The Phi Delta Psi Fraternity was founded in the Winter of 1962 by founding fathers Dawn McKee, Geoffrey Miles and William Miles. Original qualifications for membership in Phi Delta Psi included a 3.25 cumulative QPA and holding an office in another organization on campus. In the Fall of 1967, the qualifications were modified so that the Fraternity could grow as the campus expanded. Phi Delta Psi had always been known for producing many outstanding leaders in other campus organizations, and, under the leader of President Stan Stuchinski, the Phi Delta Psi Fraternity was named outstanding campus organization on campus in 1969. The aims of the Phi Delta Psi were:
On April 2, 1971, the Brothers of Phi Delta Psi were sworn into the pledge program of Delta Chi. On May 15, 1971, they were fully initiated into the Bond of Delta Chi, twenty-four strong , the Penn State Delta Chi Chapter House. Was there a relationship with THIS Phi Delta Psi?
