Pitt-Johnstown has been designated as 2010 “Military Friendly Schools” by G.I. Jobs. The designation is reserved for the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the United States that are reaching out to America’s veterans as students.
In addition to providing benefits such as on-campus veterans’ programs and credit for military service, criteria for making the Military Friendly Schools list include efforts and results in recruiting and retaining military and veteran students, and academic accreditations. The list was compiled through research starting in May, during which G.I. Jobs polled more than 7,000 schools nationwide.
Schools on the Military Friendly Schools list also offer additional benefits to student veterans such as military spouse programs.
